The Corrymoor Gentle Top sock is completely unisex and comes in a UK size 4 – 13 (EU 37 – 48)
The Gentle-Top is a calf-length, plain-knit, lightweight sock. It has a hand-linked toe seam, an elastic-free top and ribbed leg which holds with even pressure. The Gentle-Top is machine washable, durable and comfortable.
The Gentle-Top is ideal for wearing in shoes or lightweight boots. It is especially suitable for people who have poor circulation, Reynaud’s syndrome and diabetes due to the elastic free top which creates a ‘slouchy’ effect.
Please keep in mind that sometimes colours vary ever so slightly due to the dying process.
About these amazing socks!
Corrymoor have kept Angora goats since 1986 and have bred good natured and well framed animals with exceptionally fine, lustrous, kemp-free mohair fleeces. In case you wondered and thought mohair was an itchy fibre, Kemp is a short thick fibre which makes poor quality mohair itchy, but not this mohair! Mohair is known as the “Diamond Fibre” for its lustre, strength and durability. Unlike sheep’s wool, mohair fibres are smooth and don’t trap bacteria which cause smells.
The Corrymoor Angora goats are shorn twice a year and the mohair fleeces are carefully graded to ensure that only the best quality is used for socks. They supplement their homegrown mohair with mohair from other British breeders and the fine mohair from South Africa. The mohair is specially selected for its quality and softness, as well as for its strength. Since 1990 their socks have been expertly knitted on traditional machinery in Leicestershire, England and dyed “in the sock”. Their farm is located in the Blackdown Hills in Devon, not to far from us, infact, we have been to visit the farm and the goats were adorable, especially the kids!
